The organizational structure of the journal comprises:

  • The Editorial Board: the Editor-in-Chief, the Managing Editor, and a number of faculty members of the Academy.
  • The Scientific Advisory Committee: faculty members and specialized experts from within and outside the Academy.
  • The Journal Secretary (and Treasurer).
  • Two linguistic reviewers for manuscripts submitted in Arabic and English.

The Editorial Board is appointed by decision of the President of the Academy; the Secretary is appointed on the nomination of the Dean of the School of Applied and Engineering Sciences. Full details of each member are published on the website, including: name, affiliation, official e-mail, a short scientific biography, a Google Scholar profile link, and an ORCID iD.

Duties of the Editor-in-Chief:

  • General supervision of the scientific and administrative affairs of the journal.
  • Convening and chairing Editorial Board meetings, and preparing progress reports for the Dean of the School.
  • Conducting correspondence and liaising with scientific institutions locally and internationally to support the journal and obtain accreditation and indexing.
  • Coordinating with organizers of conferences and seminars within the journal's scope to publish their peer-reviewed work.
  • Providing the author with a notification of acceptance after completion of review, and performing any tasks assigned by the Editorial Board.

Duties of the Editorial Board:

  • Setting the journal's work plans and detailed publication rules and supervising their implementation.
  • Designing the peer-review form and the intellectual-property form.
  • Selecting the members of the Scientific Advisory Committee and reviewers across disciplines and maintaining a reviewer database.
  • Approving manuscripts for publication and periodically evaluating the journal to raise its scientific standard.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding any information related to manuscripts under review.

Duties of the Managing Editor:

  • Receiving manuscripts and verifying compliance with publication requirements, and following up on review procedures and the implementation of reviewers' comments.
  • Communicating with reviewers, authors, and the linguistic reviewer, and technically supervising production and electronic publishing.
  • Verifying originality using plagiarism-detection software, and promoting the journal at scientific forums.

Duties of the Journal Secretary:

  • Preparing the minutes of Editorial Board meetings and performing secretarial duties and document retention (paper and electronic).
  • Formatting manuscripts in accordance with the journal's academic writing rules, and any other tasks within the journal's scope.
