About the arbitration process
Sahel Al-Maarifa Journal for Humanities and Applied Sciences depends on a Double-Blind Peer Review system to ensure the highest degree of impartiality and objectivity in evaluating submitted research. The review process includes the following steps:
1-Initial Screening
Upon receiving a submission through the journal's online system, the editorial team conducts an initial review. This step ensures the research aligns with the journal's scope and objectives, that all required documents are complete, and that the submission adheres to the guidelines for structure, documentation, and language. If the basic conditions are not met, the submission is rejected, and the author is informed of the reasons.
2-Assigning Articles to Reviewers
Research that passes the initial screening is then forwarded to the review committee. This committee comprises specialized experts from both within and outside the academy, chosen based on their scientific expertise and the absence of any conflict of interest with the author. Both the author's and the reviewer's identities are concealed to ensure confidentiality and impartiality
3-Review Process
Reviewers evaluate the research paper based on several key criteria listed in a manuscript review form sent to the reviewers. These include scientific originality, methodological soundness, clarity of results, adherence to academic ethics, and the quality of language and style. Detailed review reports are provided, containing clear recommendations for either acceptance, conditional acceptance with revisions, or rejection
4-Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers' reports, the Editor-in-Chief makes the appropriate decision: final acceptance, acceptance with revisions, resubmission after major revisions, or rejection, with reasons explained to the author. Authors are typically notified of the decision within 4 to 8 weeks.
5—Revisions
If amendments are requested, the author must submit a revised version along with a detailed response to the reviewers' comments within a specified timeframe (usually 2 to 4 weeks). The revised version may be sent back to the same reviewers or to new ones, depending on the nature of the required changes.
6-Final Acceptance & Publication
After final approval of the article, it undergoes linguistic and technical preparations according to the journal's standards. It is then published in the appropriate issue, and a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) is assigned to facilitate scientific citation.
7-Guarantees of Integrity and Quality
- Confidentiality of Information: Maintaining the confidentiality of authors' and reviewers' identities throughout the peer review process.
- Transparency and Speed: Working to minimize the time between submission, final decision, and publication.
- Right to Appeal: Granting authors the opportunity to appeal decisions with scientific justifications.
- Index Updates: Ensuring research data is regularly updated in international indexing databases such as Google Scholar
