Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of scientific research centers in achieving sustainable development in Algeria, through a case study of the Center for Research in Applied Economics for Development (CREAD), one of the most important national research centers specializing in economic, social, and developmental issues. The study employed a descriptive-analytical approach and a case study methodology, utilizing an analytical tool: an evaluation matrix that links the center's activities to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The study concluded that CREAD contributes effectively to supporting the economic and social dimensions of sustainable development, while its contribution to the environmental and energy dimensions remains moderate. This necessitates strengthening the integration between scientific research and public policies of an environmental and strategic nature.
