Research Summary:
Expression is linked to human behavior and the extent to which humans are influenced by their surrounding environment, whether in the form of an imaginary or tangible image, through which we perceive the feelings of this person or artist. Expression is the essence of all art, as it is linked to art and all artistic movements and schools from ancient times to the present day. Expression has been linked to various elements of composition, including shape, line, color, texture, mass, space, darks, light, and composition. It has also been linked to artistic values, including movement, rhythm, harmony, contrast, balance, and unity, all of which contribute to the success of the artwork.
The relationship between the content and the form and subject of the painting is also related to the content within the artwork. The content within the artwork is divided into content as a formal concept, linking it to the composition within the artwork, as the essence of the artwork, and content as an intellectual and philosophical concept. The relationship between the artist and the intellectual, philosophical, religious, political, social, and economic trends surrounding him is clarified, as well as the extent of their influence in shaping the artist's personality and thought. What is meant by expressive content, when considered as a meaning that combines all the aforementioned concepts of content, on the one hand, and the elements of formation and artistic values, on the other. From here, we conclude that expressive content in photography exists as long as art is considered an expressive means through which the artist expresses what surrounds him in the environment, on the one hand, and his own self, psyche, and emotions related to this universe, on the other.
