A field study at the Libyan Command and Staff College

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the implementation of the requirements of academic military education in Libya and the quality of training, including the quality of the training environment, training programme, and trainers at the Libyan Command and Staff College through a field study involving faculty members and students. It also aimed to identify differences in respondents' answers regarding military education quality and training components attributed to personal and occupational variables (age, experience, military rank) at the Command and Staff College under study. The study was conducted on a simple random sample from the study population using a descriptive analytical approach. Sixty questionnaires were distributed, and forty-seven were collected. Statistical methods compatible with the study's data nature were employed, including the use of the SPSS statistical package for questionnaire analysis. Data analysis involved frequencies, means, standard deviations, and Cronbach's alpha coefficient to verify the test's reliability. The study revealed that the Libyan Command and Staff College implements quality military education, with sample respondents showing a high average agreement score of 4.44 towards military education quality, indicating a positive inclination towards this variable. Similarly, the respondents demonstrated high agreement towards the quality of military training in all its dimensions. The study indicated no significant differences between respondents' average responses regarding military education quality and military training quality, attributed to personal variables (age, work experience, military rank).
