Abstract
This research explores the process of uncovering the axiological (value-based) dimensions of sea pebbles, a natural material characterized by aesthetic and formative potential. The research problem lies in questioning how the inherent aesthetic values of pebbles—represented by texture, shape, color, size, visual distribution, and content—can be employed in designing contemporary abstract artworks. The current research aims to analyze the aesthetic, formative, and semantic values of sea pebbles from an axiological perspective and to utilize these values in designing new formative vocabulary within the contemporary abstract movement. It also relies on a descriptive-analytical approach. The importance of the research lies in linking the philosophical discourse on value with the artistic practice of artists, which helps to
open new horizons for artists to create and formulate natural materials for designing contemporary artworks that offer an aesthetic and intellectual dimension. The research concludes with the findings, which include arriving at aesthetic and value-based foundations and criteria for designing abstract works using sea pebbles.
