Multifunctional furniture emerged in response to the challenges posed by continuous population growth in cities. Urban sprawl and rising property prices are forcing residents to live in smaller spaces and find ways to cope with these costs, resulting in the rise of smaller houses and apartments. Many apartments fail to provide comfortable and high-quality living spaces, while human needs remain constant or even increase. The use of multifunctional furniture solutions allows for maximizing the use of these limited spaces, achieving greater comfort, ease of use, and better organization. This research paper explores the impact of multifunctional furniture on space efficiency in apartments, supporting the idea that multifunctional furniture can be a smart solution to these problems. Furniture, being both a necessity and a luxury, is needed by everyone. However, furniture occupies a significant amount of space, leading to clutter and wasted space. Therefore, flexibility in housing design has been developed to improve the quality of life in interior design. Multifunctional furniture, as a flexible solution, can enhance the sustainability of spaces and improve quality of life by performing multiple functions simultaneously. This type of flexible furniture balances aesthetics with efficiency.
