Abstract
Abstract:
This study examines the role of line as a foundational visual structure in line-based logo design, where the logo is primarily constructed through linear elements rather than typographic or mass-based forms. The research addresses how line, as a minimal yet highly expressive visual element, contributes to the formation of aesthetic values and the generation of creative ideas within logo design. The study adopts a descriptive–analytical approach, supported by visual analysis and a semiotic perspective, to examine a selected sample of line-based logos. Through this framework, the research analyzes the structural use of line, its formal relationships within the composition, and its capacity to convey visual meaning. The findings indicate that line functions not merely as a formal element, but as a generative visual structure that shapes aesthetic qualities such as balance, rhythm, harmony, and unity. Moreover, line plays a significant role in stimulating visual ideation by enabling abstraction, simplification, and symbolic representation. The study concludes that line-based logo design represents a distinct visual approach in which line operates as both a structural and conceptual driver, contributing to the development of clear, efficient, and meaningful visual identities.
