This descriptive study aims to uncover the type and content of social issues published in the Libyan Journal. The researcher used a survey methodology to analyze 15 issues of the journal published between 2020 and 2025. Gatekeeper theory was employed to interpret and analyze the findings, which include: the most frequently addressed social issues in the journal were social media and social life; journalistic surveys ranked first among the journalistic writing techniques used in the Libyan Journal; journalists were the primary source of information compared to other sources used by the journal; local issues and topics received the most attention; the main focus of the published social issues was the event, the person, and the place; and social advice was the most frequently used method of reasoning in the Libyan Journal.
