Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to find out the extent of the General Electricity Company's commitment to the concept of social responsibility towards society. It is also aims to identify the social responsibility programs that carried out by the public relations participants in contribution and enhancing the development of the company's social role in society. This study is considered is one of the descriptive studies to know the situation of the company's social responsibility for the General Electricity Company. The researchers used a comprehensive quantitative for 65 employees in the public relations department within the company. The researchers used the questionnaire as a main tool for collecting data and information in this study. The study concluded the following:

  1. The study indicated that the professional standards followed by public relations in the implementation of social responsibility programs is due to the lack of a job description related to social responsibility inside the company.
  2. The study showed that there are difficulties that prevent the company's senior management from implementing social responsibility programs.
  3. The results of the study illustrated that the communication means represented by the international information network, seminars and conferences are the most used methods by public relations in implementing the company's social responsibility programs.
  4. The results of the study confirmed that the senior management of the company is based on providing a budget for social responsibility programs through the revenues of the electricity consumers' accounts.
