Abstract

Abstract:

Media is considered one of the most important modern means of communication and has become a powerful influence on the values and beliefs of viewers. In addition to its influential role, the media performs many functions that shape individuals' personalities and social identities. It has become a key tool and an important means of cultural and intellectual influence, as well as a tool for intellectual invasion through the presentation of dubbed foreign series.

Since the appearance of Mexican dubbed series in 1992 on Arab television channels, they have been followed by a variety of Turkish, Indian, Korean, and American series in Arabic. These series have gained great popularity in the Arab world due to their intriguing stories, complex characters, and high production quality. They also depict foreign customs and traditions that differ significantly from those in Arab societies. These dubbed series provide Arab viewers with an opportunity to explore new cultures and expand their cultural horizons. However, the influence of these series has sparked discussions and considerable controversy among Arab communities. Some argue that these series present values and behaviors that are foreign to Arab society, potentially affecting social and religious values.

This study examines the impact of dubbed series aired on Arab television channels on shaping the social and religious values of Arab families. These series have played a significant role in influencing general cultures, behaviors, and societal values, whether positively or negatively.
