This study aims to identify the importance and antiquity of traditional industries in Libya, through studying one of these crafts, which is the art of (engraving the Manaqish used in the art of engraving on copper), which has not received much study and research. This study crystallized through field research and the descriptive approach using the study tool represented by a personal interview with one of the skilled craftsmen in the Qazdara market in the city of Tripoli (Youssef Shuwaishin) to learn through it about the history of this craft that he inherited from his father and grandfather and to delve into its secrets, tools, materials and methods of manufacturing, as well as to learn closely about the problems and difficulties facing craftsmen and constitute an alarm bell threatening its extinction, so that we may reach through these studies the hand of the person responsible for preserving the heritage to protect it and preserve it from the systematic war to obliterate our Libyan identity in the absence of the supervisory authorities responsible for preserving the heritage. This study concluded with a set of recommendations, including the necessity for everyone to unite to preserve our heritage from alienation, alienation and hybridization.
